Lauren Gentile, ISA, MAAB is the Founder and Director of Contemporary Wing. She was the former Director of Irvine Contemporary and a 2007 graduate of the Sotheby’s Institute in London where she specialized in the economics in the international art market, with expertise in valuation, art advisory services and art collection management. Ms. Gentile holds a Master’s in Art Business degree from SIA London and wrote her thesis on fine art as an alternative asset class and fine art investing; the work focused on the recent phenomena of fine art funds. She also has a thorough background in art history, is a certified personal property appraiser specializing in fine and decorative arts and holds two B.A. degrees in art history and international studies from DePaul University in Chicago. She has studied art history, Italian and German at The School of the Art Institute in Chicago, the University of Florence and the Goethe Institute. She is a member of the 1869 Society (Young Philanthropists) and The Contemporaries (Acquisitions) steering committees at The Corcoran Gallery of Art, ArtTable, and the Junior League. Really interesting material. Found you while looking for more info on Teo Gonzalez. Thanks for your coverage of the Hirst sale; I’m definitely bookmarking you.
